SEO – Your Web Site

Search engine optimization for your web site includes many things. The basic gist of it is that search engines “see” web sites very different from how people see a web site, and there are many tricks and techniques to make sure the search engines see your site the way you want it.

We look at web sites in different ways to see what the search engine spiders see. We make notes about missing information the the engines are missing, like alt tags for images. We compare this information to what you want them to see and look at how things can be enhanced to give the search engines the info about your site that you want to present.

There are many ingredients to search engine optimizing your web site. There are thousands of pages on the internet about things to do, and things not to do. There are thousands of forum posts and conversations online (and off) about what search engines consider good and bad content, and good and bad SEO techniques. We combine the knowledge from many of these forums, and our own experience from years of learning, and trial and error, to make your site shine in the search engine results.

Sometimes we recommend rewriting some of the text content of your site in order to give the engines a better idea of the keywords that should bring your site up higher in the organic search results. Sometimes there are many “backend” fixes such as fixing alt tags, meta data, and other underlying code within your site. For some web sites fixing the underlying code so that the search engine spiders digest the information properly is a majority of what it takes to improve your search engine placement.

Fixing the underlying code, you may not see any difference in your web site whatsoever, but the engines will see you site in an entirely different way.

Every web site is different, and the necessary enhancement vary depending upon the type of web site that you have. Send us a link to your site and we’ll take a look at it. Some sites only require a few minor changes to score much better. Some web sites have required an entire redesign from the ground up. A lot of if it depends upon what content you have, how it is coded, and what keywords or search phrases you would like to achieve front page results for.

Since web site optimization for your site and code varies depending upon what you have and what you need, the prices for this service vary widely, and the method for us to do this work varies as well. For some clients we actually recreate their entire web site in one of our web site creation tools, fixing the underlying code, page structure, image alt tags and everything. Prices for this kind of service average from $1500 to $2500. Of course it could be more depending upon the size of your site and if you need us to spend time making changes and updates to the content during this process. There are other ways for us to handle the on site SEO as well.

Some of our clients already have a web site designer and or an IT guy (or girl) who handles their web site FTP and maintainence. Depending upon the changes necessary, on some occasions we can rip the code, make some changes and send you the html files to have your web people upload and make the updates. If the changes are few, and done in this manner, prices run an average of $250 – $500. Again, the price depends upon how many pages, what work needs to be done, and what your keyword / search phrase goals are. This type of on site SEO changes are also subject to the possibility of making the changes this way.

Web sites created in php, use forms, flash, or other codes may not qualify for this type of work, and entire redesign may be necessary. Extensive text content rewriting may require additional fees as well. For a more accurate quote of the price and turn around time for your on site search engine optimization needs, simply contact us with some basic info and we’ll let you know.
